Over the past month, we have discussed economic trends in St. Tammany and on the Northshore, releasing our quarterly reports and participating in the Dr. Ivan Miestchovich UNO/Latter & Blum Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar.
We witnessed the success of our strategic partners—theNorthshore Technical Community College, for example, received a perfect score from The Brookings Institute for the "value added" by its programs.
And finally, we celebrated the expansion of Netchex in Mandeville, the ideal business retention success story. We look forward to growing in St. Tammany together.

Netchex Announces 240-Job Expansion
Netchex will retain 86 jobs and create 240 net new jobs with a capital expenditure of $5.3 million dollars. This project is a direct result of our robust business retention and expansion program.
Building permits lead St. Tammany growth in first quarter 2015
We released our first quarter reports on St. Tammany economic trends and parish growth. Building permits saw the highest increases, with 52.2 percent more residential permits issued than in the last quarter and 68.8 percent more commercial permits issued than in the corresponding quarter last year.

NTCC achieves perfect score in study
A study by The Brookings Institute identified Northshore Technical Community College as one of six two-year colleges to receive a perfect score for the “value added” by its programs. NTCC ranked first in the nation in this category. The report found that NTCC graduates’ actual occupational earning power exceeded their expected occupational earning power by nearly $15,000 a year.
