(MANDEVILLE, La.) – Ashley Cangelosi Llewellyn, programs manager for the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation (STEDF), was named a finalist for the 2015 Outstanding Millennial in Economic Development award at the Millennial Awards Saturday night.
Produced by Spears Consulting Group as part of its Social Renaissance series, the Millennial Awards event honors young professionals in the greater New Orleans area who excel within their fields.
“I am honored to have been nominated for this award. It is a privilege to work daily to cultivate the business and workforce assets of the community I have always called home. I look forward to many years of learning, contributing and growing in the greater New Orleans area,” Llewellyn said.
Llewellyn joined STEDF in June 2013. She currently oversees strategic partnerships and all activities designed for business retention, business and workforce development and entrepreneurship.
Over the past two years, Llewellyn launched two series intended to nurture and grow local business:
- The Workforce Development Series shares relevant workforce development information regarding the parish, region, and state with business and community leaders.
- The Entrepreneurship Program brings together individuals in St. Tammany who identify themselves as entrepreneurs and equips them with the knowledge and resources necessary to flourish. The Entrepreneurship Program is the first of its kind on the Northshore.
Brenda Bertus, CEO of STEDF, nominated Llewellyn.
“I can think of no Millennial more deserving of recognition for her accomplishments and her potential in the field of economic development,” Bertus said. “With an unparalleled commitment toward empowering this region and its diverse populations, Ashley constitutes the most driven and enthusiastic of her generation.”
